Developing Company Logos Research
This logo is for the company paramount. Paramount has been a big name in film for a vast number of years and continues to be one of the front runners in film distribution today. We can get an idea that this is a big company considering that their logo is created in the form of a detailed animation which ends to form the paramount logo. The high production value of the company is emphasised as every component of the image is given a physical presence instead of a painted on font. Big named studios such as paramount often change the appearance of their logo to fit with the tone of the film which they are attempting to distribute. This shows evidence of a greater budget and confidence for a film.
Miramax is a big name within films and have produced some of the best films to come out of cinema in recent years. The logo for Miramax is an example of how simplicity can be very effective. The bold font and alignment of text is iconic and can be shown simply without having to dedicate 15 seconds of screen time in order to reveal its logo.
The Weinstein Company have been making films since 2005 and have quickly made film history. Their logo evokes feelings of classic cinema the logo appears to have spot lights that combine to create a W. The use of spotlights were common with the release of films in old cinemas as they were more like events than a common journey that they are now. Through this simple technique, the company make themselves instantly recognisable as a film company and evoke feelings of classic cinema.
Taking the company's that I have analysed into consideration, I have created a company logo for Yanez films:
Researching for shoots
Poster:
My poster will be based in a minimalist art style so aspects such as location and make up will be useless for this.
Hair:
I want to show that the character has been through an ordeal so it will be good to give their hair a slept in look. I want to be able to highlight this aspect through silhouette form.
Costumes:
Again the costumes will not matter too much as I am turning each image into a silhouette. However I would like to reflect some of the clothing that the three will be wearing as they commit crimes so I will get them to wear hats or masks.
Props:
Props will not be required for this shoot as it is not necessary for the way that I wish to set up the characters and the story.
Magazine:
In the cover of my magazine, I will not show the face of the person within the image so Make up will not be necessary within this shoot. Hair will also not be a necessary factor to alter within this shoot as the individual will be wearing a mask or hood at the time.
Costumes:
The person within the shoot will be wearing a hoodie with the hood over his head. His face will be covered either by a mask or a scarf on his lower face. Over the top of his hoodie he will be wearing a dark green jacket. The costume will be complete with a pair of padded gloves.
Location:
Upon my research, I began to notice that film magazines tend to use studio shoots and manipulate the environment in photoshop. I feel that it would only make sense to use this tradition of shooting within a studio in my own work in order to make my attempt seem more professional.
Props:
In my shoot I am only going to require two major props. The first will be a baseball bat, which is the characters main choice of weapon within the first portion of the film. He will be resting the baseball bat on his shoulder as he holds the next prop in his other hand. He will be staring at a balaclava that is in his hand as it hangs toward the camera.

Title Ideas
Title Survey:
I set up a survey out of the three most popular names among the mind map in order to find out what title I will use. After 17 total responses, it appears that The Rogues will be the title which I will use as it managed to be the most popular title by far with an amazing 13 votes. It is clear that audiences prefer this title so I will use it within my film.

Target Audience- Magazine
This magazine has a mostly male demographic and the magazine does a lot in order to appeal to that audience. One of the biggest villains in comic history is front and centre of this magazine, which is the source of a lot of hype to see Jared Leto's performance in action. The character is posed very sinisterly, holding an electrical object of some sort. The tone of this cover is very gritty, from the filters and the tattoos. This is clearly intended to appeal to the male audience with its dark tone and sinister themes.
This cover is for the magazine cosmopolitan. Cosmopolitan's audience mainly focuses on targeting women as their target audience. We can see that the cover looks to appeal to the female audience in a number of ways. The magazine uses pink as the main colour for its font, a colour that is often favoured by women. The cover is written as if they are talking to a woman, as can be seen in the 'love your body (and his)' line. A fashionable woman can be seen in the centre of the image and the magazine will do this in order to encourage readers to pick up the issue in order to learn how to achieve her look.
This is a cover for the sports magazine, ESPN. ESPN has a largely male following and tailors their magazine covers in order to appeal to a male demographic. The focus of the image is an American Football player who is standing in an imposing pose. The colour pallet that is being used within this cover sticks to predominantly male colours such as red and blue. Even the font style is aimed to create an impression of American football and sport.
